We visited this statue with our children in June, 1997. It is just as described, but one caution -- in the sunlight, it gets extremely HOT! Our children tried to climb it and got an uncomfortable burn.

Giant bronze statue of Alice in Wonderland sitting on a mushroom, accompanied by the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat and others. The statue is just inside the eastern edge of Central Park, where kids (and adults) are welcome to climb on it and take pictures. One of the walkways leads directly to Alice, so you can't miss her.
