A Muffler Man dressed as a Soda Jerk can be seen holding an ice cream cone as you travel the US 51 bypass around Macon. Closest to the southbound lanes. If you want to stop and see it, the address is 103 Merchant St. It was a construction site when we went past in 2012; it may be finished now.

In Fall 2010, Mark Cline created a fiberglass figure -- a soda jerk statue -- that has been shipped from his studio in Natural Bridge, Virginia to Macon, Illinois for a new ice cream store called Chillbillies.
The fellow with the blue pants is now in Illinois. The other two jerks stayed put.
