I was a little leery of this one when I saw it on this site. My husband and I went -- and it was great! A nice park in downtown Kansas City. It also has a series of characters that are hand-signing the letters w-e-l-c-o-m-e.

In Sheila Kemper Dietrich Park, there is a cool old pirate ship and sea monster made out of concrete, and creepy little woodland friends signing out welcome. There are also boats and the normal park toys such as swings. This park is under renovation last time I went, but you can still access everything.
