Amarillo, Texas: Big Texan Steak Ranch
A place that you thought only existed in a Simpsons episode. If you can eat its 72 oz. steak in an hour, you get it for free. Big bull and goofy photo-ops in the parking lot.

This is quite the stereotypical Texan place. It opened on the previous Route 66 on East Amarillo Boulevard in 1960 and moved to its present location on Interstate 40 in 1970, so it's been around awhile.
As you walk up to it, there are cheesy, but fun, displays of cowboys eating a steak with the head cut out so you can pose for a photo, as my son did when he was younger. There is also a big cow. Inside, there is a huge rocking chair, as well as a big stuffed bear and other items. The adjacent motel has a Texas-shaped swimming pool.
[Kevin James Shay, 07/30/2010]Not a complete tip, but an addition to the one you are already running. The Big Texan Steak Ranch is also a Southern Baptist church, with a congregation of approximately 20. The pastor's name is Ray Milhoan.
