Pensacola Beach, Florida: Futuro - UFO House

I personally know the owner of the Spaceship House-Futuro House on Pensacola Beach. It was her dream as a teen to own it and now she does. But the Spaceship still stands proud in all her glory. She's our Pensacola Beach Preservation and Historical Societies headquarters. She's still one of the coolest landmarks on Pensacola Beach

During my visit home a year ago, the ship was undergoing a face lift still. Hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Dennis caused the ship minimal damage. While the ramp and launchpad took all the blows of both the hurricanes and a more recent tornado. She's getting an all-new paint job too, a beautiful metal fleck white. She will sparkle in the sun the same as the sugar white sands of Pensacola Beach does.

Inside the Spaceship House, is somewhat the same little home as it was when she was first lowered onto the launch pad in the late sixties by a helicopter.

The UFO house in Pensacola is said to have been made because of aliens and what not. But the truth is the structure is built like a UFO to lift up and float if the area is ever flooded out -- hit by a bad rainstorm, or more likely a hurricane. I just wanted people to know that. The aliens are put up in the windows out of humor. But still the house is very interesting. I know this because I live here.

In a couple places in the Roadside America Web pages are listings for the Pensacola Beach UFO house. I found it searching for listings under Pensacola Beach, its true location, and Gulf Breeze. While UFO sightings have been common in Gulf Breeze, the house is on Pensacola Beach. There are no photos of the house on your webpages, however, so I have attached one.

The house has been on and off the market in recent years, and I saw that the aliens have been removed from the windows by the current owners. Truly one of Pensacola Beach's greatest attractions, it can only be described with a photo.

This house has been a part of the local landscape for as long as I can remember. Sitting on Highway 98, commonly called Via De Luna here, is a white metal UFO, complete with a ramp going up to the doors which sit about 12 feet off the ground. This is an actual residence! At Halloween each year a large orange parachute, probably on loan from the nearby Pensacola Naval Air Station, transforms the UFO into a giant toothy pumpkin. When riding by, notice the ETs looking out the window at you. Quite a sight on sleepy Pensacola beach...

I have lived in the Pensacola area all of my life. The house that sits on Pensacola Beach that looks like a UFO has survived more than two hurricanes in two years. It was put there many years ago, back when I was a child. It has survived many hurricanes in this area.
