It has been five years since the Mortons Gap Muffler Man was restored. We stopped by the other day to check on him. He still looks pretty good, other than a small paint issue on his back and sun-bleached shoulders. The donkeys rule here, so the owner encourages pictures to be taken from the road at the bottom of the hill.
[Joel Baker, 10/30/2020]This Muffler Man is visible from the freeway, but is a good distance away.
[Dave, 09/19/2020]The Mortons Gap Muffler Man is still there. Going south, about a mile past exit 108, look to your right/ west. There will be a row of trees, then a garage/shed, then no trees, and he is up on top of the hill.
[Mike R., 05/21/2020]We drove by on May 26, 2019, and it appears it was no longer there.

After a year away from its donkey pasture home, the newly refurbished 14 ft Muffler Man was installed today by Joel Baker and his American Giants team. In 2014 the American Giants crew launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the repairs which included the addition of arms, a head, and a custom axe, none of which the Muffler Man had for the 20 years it stood in the pasture along western Kentucky's Pennyrile Parkway.
As they documented the restoration, they learned that this Muffler Man was originally produced in 1963 for Implement Specialty Co. in St. Louis. The restoration work done on this giant is amazing.
