Rural Orleans County, 45 minutes from Niagara Falls, NY. New York State Thruway Exit 48A, north on Rt. 63 to Lyndonville, continue north to Lake Shore Road, at the 3-way intersection of Lake Shore Rd and Foss Rd, in the triangular median.

Sneaker Trees

There are three trees currently. It looked like one tree was taken down by a storm or wind. It was actually kind of cool to see.

Shoe Trees - Sneaker Trees

Here's a picture of the Lyndonville Sneaker Trees described by others. There are four of them and the shoes number in the hundreds. It's just down the road from Golden Hill State Park which has a well kept lighthouse on the bluffs overlooking Lake Ontario.

Sneaker Tree - Another Shoe Tree

Several maple trees filled with pairs of sneakers, old shoes, etc. thrown into the branches with a wish for good luck. Local tradition has it that if the shoes stuck your wish would come true.
