If you like weird museums and/or Abraham Lincoln, this is an amazing collection of funeral stuff, including replicas of Lincoln's casket and other items from his funeral tour. It is augmented with an equally interesting collection of natural history objects from the area.
We only had an hour, but a person could easily spend a couple of hours. If the person at the museum asks if you're there for the jail, across the street, say no, and you'll probably hear a very interesting story.

The entire contents of the closed Museum of Funeral Customs have been moved cross-state to the Kibbe Hancock Heritage Museum in Carthage. Most of the former museum is still to be catalogued, but Kibbe is already displaying a few of the more unusual caskets and the recreated embalming room. It plans to get the Lincoln exhibit -- including his replica casket -- on display by March 2012. Kibbe already had some unusual exhibits of its own, including a woman's muff made from monkey hair, and a two-headed pig.
