Craigellachie, British Columbia, Canada: Last Spike Monument

The U.S. had a "Golden Spike" to mark the meeting-spot of the two halves of its first Transcontinental Railroad. Canada - same continent, different country - did the same a few years later, without the gold.

Address:
Trans-Canada Hwy., Craigellachie, BC, Canada
Directions:
On the south side of the Trans-Canada Hwy around two kilometers east of the hamlet of Craigellachie. Turn into the parking lot, then park as far as you can from the entrance. The monument is a short walk further, next to the train tracks.
