Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada: Bushplane Museum

"Bush flying is several hours of boredom followed by a few seconds of sheer terror." Climb into the cargo hold of a waterbomber, watch a 4-D movie that puts you in the pilot seat. Without bushplanes, a lot of Canada would be inaccessible.

Bushplane Museum

This place is great for kids and adults! Lots of history of the bush planes, including wreckage. There is also a nice display about Canadian women pilots and astronaut Roberta Bondar, who is from the Soo.

Make sure you see the film about wildfires and how they used water drops to put out fires. There is a hands-on science section for children.

Recently the Entomica Insectarium was added -- interesting insects, amphibians, and fish.
