The plaque for "Birthplace of United Parcel Service" is appropriately brownish in color.

It was born in 1907, according to the plaque, "exemplifying the opportunities open to private citizens under the Constitution of the United States of America."

United Parcel Service was started in 1907 by two young men as American Messenger Service. The first office was located under a saloon in what is now Waterfall Garden Park, a somewhat hidden walled pocket park, built to remember those early package delivery boys.
