This was definitely worth the detour! It was great! They have lots of things not listed in the online catalog. The store looks small from the outside, but it is packed to the roof with the wildest things!
[Joy, 07/18/2014]On a recent trip I noticed Archie McPhee's, recently relocated to Seattle's Wallingord District, includes a new attraction: a hybrid insect/man/fish whatsis under glass known as "The Beast Of Wallingford." It's curiously enough in the exact same pose as "The Thing, Mystery Of The Desert" down off the I-10 in Arizona.
"Maybe they're related," a clerk hopefully offered.

The Archie McPhee store recently moved to a new physical location, which is slightly smaller than the old shop, but is packed with more insanity per square foot than ever before.
Do you need a battery-powered yodeling pickle? They have it. Been searching for tiny underpants that fit the immodest squirrels in your yard? Your search is over. Are you a fan of bacon? They have over 25 different bacon-themed items from air fresheners to gift wrap to wristwatches.
Plenty of bizarre costume items, odd figurines, retro-mod housewares, miniature items, action figures, quirky Indian posters, giant items (scissors, pencils etc), cool postcards, and way more.
The store also has several bins and racks of various things apparently bought in bulk from other companies - rubber tubing, hazmat suits, record player innards, science lab supplies and so on.
Sure, you can shop their online catalog as well, but you only get the full experience, including limited-supply and one-of-a-kind items, by visiting their physical store in Seattle. With items priced from thirty cents to hundreds of dollars, representing nearly every slightly bent interest, there really is something for everyone.
They also have a monthly coupon on their website, good for a free something or the other, so be sure to print one before visiting.
