Canmore, Alberta, Canada: The Big Head
The town of Canmore gets its name from the Gaelic "big head," so artist Al Henderson created a literal translation: a bald man's head emerging from the ground. It's a Big Head.

Canmore means "big head" (or great leader) in Gaelic. The head was sculpted for the town in 2008 by artist Alan Henderson based on the clean-shaven dome of a friend. The 7 1/2 ton stone head is sometimes augmented with big prank hats.
