The Beefaroni chef has been immortalized in the Cornhusker state. A six-foot bronze of Chef Boyardee is now the permanent photo-op "official greeter" of Omaha's downtown ConAgra Plaza, chosen by the corporation as the most lovable of its humanized brands. Hector Boiardi was in fact a real chef, and the statue is a careful blend of the human Italian and the Boyardee cartoon label -- with the recognizable Boyardee moustache, smile, and puffy hat, but without the exaggerated fingertip-kissing and bug eyes seen on some pizza parlor statues.
