This version seems like it replaces an earlier deteriorated carving of the tall tale pair.

Cordwood Pete and Tamarack

Cordwood Pete and Tamarack have been moved to the front porch of a log cabin located in the town park.

Also in the park are the history center, one-room schoolhouse, and a veterans memorial. The memorial includes a genuine tank, helicopter and 14 shell casings lining a memorial walk.

There is a bathroom available next to the chapel.

Location has changed. It's at the city yard waiting for repairs. About 3 blocks south behind a fence.

Temporary location on Rt. 6 south of 3rd St. SW, but after repairs it should be at the usual spot.

Cordwood Pete Pete is known in local folklore as Paul Bunyan's younger brother, who existed during the logging days and, despite being only 4'9", could do the work of two men. Here in Fosston is a woodcarved statue of Pete and his sidekick donkey Tamarack.
