Ball of Paint.

World's Largest Ball of Paint

We were on a geocaching trip and decided to stop and see the World's Largest Ball of Paint. If was after dark, but the owner graciously invited us in and told us the story about how the ball of paint started.

We were then invited to apply the 22,559th coat of paint. After a wonderful visit, we mentioned geocaching and he pointed to the cache container in the corner. You just can't beat a big ball of paint and a geocache at the same location. This is definitely the silliest fun we've had in a long time!

Painted lawn.

World's Largest Ball of Paint

We headed to Alexandria with the anticipation of adding another layer to the World's Largest Ball of Paint. Glenda and Mike Carmichael posed for us.

In addition to Mike owning the big ball 'o' paint, he's also decided to paint the neighbor's tree stump and grass - once a month - in a different theme. I soooo wish he was my neighbor, although painting on my grass could be cause for death at my house.

Painting on layer 21,330.

World's Largest Ball of Paint

Visited this with my husband and four kiddies on August 30th. The building the Ball is housed in is really impressive. We added coat #21,330, blue, and had fun doing so... it's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be! It was a great experience, and I recommend it to anyone in central Indiana!

Mike Carmichael and the big ball of paint.

World's Largest Ball of Paint

My cousin and I went to see this attraction located in the middle of nowhere, countryside Indiana. I was very excited leading up to the event, as we had planned it for a number of weeks. I called and spoke to the owner [Michael Carmichael] to set up an appointment, and he was very friendly. It was exciting for us to choose which colors we wanted to paint the ball, and even got a small piece of it to take home with us.

The Carmichael's were extremely friendly and willing to share their story with us. I would suggest for anyone to go see this attraction, and add to it's growth by painting their own layer on the ball! The Carmichael's are pretty much local celebrities, and I have been sharing this story about the ball of paint with all my friends!

Proposal at the World's Largest Ball of Paint.

World's Largest Ball Of Paint

On 8/12/2006 I used the World's Largest Ball of Paint to propose to my beautiful, soon-to-be Wife. We painted on layer #20,015 together along with a bunch of friends who helped me surprise her. Mike Carmichael and his family had a big part in preparing the Ball for me in advance (I had them write "Jill will you Marry Me?" on the Ball).

Too fun -- wish I could have had all of you Roadside Fanatics with me on our very special day.
