Louisiana, Missouri: Fake Mural Painter in Town of Murals

Louisiana is one of the first and oldest river towns. It was quite a grand ole place when tobacco was king and family owned farms queen, especially when the river was the primary means of regional travel and commerce. Though suffering a gradual decline along with the demise of many family farms and general core shifts in agriculture economics, it still boasts historic Stark Bros. nursery and a wide assortment of restored Antebellum homes. The views of the Mississippi from atop Henderson park and old cemetery are hard to beat, and the inspiration of many an artist's brush and camera.

This old town along the Mississippi has 24 murals scattered around the town. They are varied and have no central theme. Some show some talent, some are kind of funky. For a complete list of where to find them stop by the Chamber of Commerce at 202 3rd St. It's in the same building as the cop shop. It's all free and doesn't close.
