The city has been developing the area. There's plenty of parking at this monument now, though it technically belongs to the restaurant (Standard Service).

Very interesting stop! Limited parking -- had to park at the hotel across the street. Never thought that there'd be a Chicken Capital of the World! Plaques around the monolith provide information on how Gainesville, Georgia revolutionized the poultry industry.

In the center of town in Gainesville, GA stands small park and a statue of a chicken, commemorating Gainesville's status as "Chicken Capital of the World." The street in front of the statue is Jesse Jewell Pkwy. named after the man who revolutionized the poultry industry by utilizing assembly line techniques. Across the street is a locomotive and rail car from the old Gainesville Midland railroad.
