- From Goldthwaite, drive west on Hwy 574 for 18 miles, then turn left at Regency onto CR-433 (historical marker on the southeast corner). Drive south on CR-433 (a gravel road) for 4.5 miles to the Bridge.

My husband and I decided to check this out. It was worth it. The Ghost Town Suspension Bridge is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road. We could hear it creak and moan as we drove over it, we could feel it slightly swaying.
We decided to get out and walk up on it and as we stepped onto the bridge we hear the most eerie sound, and it took us a moment to figure out it was the wind blowing through the cables. Awesome.
Off 16, halfway between San Saba and Llano, there is a big sign that tells you this way to the Regency Bridge, and you go about 18 miles and another sign (faded) will point the dirt road out.
[Jeanette, 08/18/2010]An old suspension bridge over the Colorado River at the ghost town of Regency, Texas. Featured years ago in TV series by Bob Phillips. The bridge was recently repaired/restored. There are no gift shops, convenience stores, or service stations for miles -- yet.
