The horse was named Midnight (1910-1936), and he's depicted lifesize with his hind legs kicked in the air and a rider landing neck and shoulders down in the dirt. Sculpture by artist Jack Bryant, 1984.

The statue of Midnight is in the middle of a really nice cowboy/cowgirl complex. There was parking you had to pay for so we pulled to the side of the street for a quick picture. My daughters felt more sorry for the thrown rider than they did for the legendary horse.
