Second Grave of James Monroe
Hollywood Cemetery is definitely worth a visit, and Monroe's tomb is a highlight. Monroe served our country in more roles than anyone else to this day. Jefferson gets credit for the Louisiana Purchase, but it was Monroe who negotiated the deal in person with Napoleon, much bigger than originally thought, with no way to communicate with Jefferson. Monroe's iron birdcage tomb has recently received a huge makeover and now sports a beautiful coat of paint.
