Tifton, Georgia: Eisenhower Interstate Highway Fountain

A bronze head of President Eisenhower is perched atop a granite pedestal in the center of a small, circular fountain. Inscriptions on the pedestal dedicate it to Ike, "whose wisdom and foresight launched the interstate highway system," and adds that the nearby I-75 bypass of Tifton was "the first completed segment" of interstate in the whole U.S.

Eisenhower Interstate Highway Fountain

The fountain is 3-sided, with small concrete benches positioned around it. Wasn't running when we stopped. An additional plaque is located at the entrance to the fountain area. Seems pretty overshadowed by other things going on in conjunction with the Georgia Museum of Agriculture.
