Displayed in rural Lowell Park along the Rock River, the same spot where "young and strong" lifeguard Ronald Reagan saved 77 people -- at least, that's the claim made by the plaque on the Horsey Reagan statue in downtown Dixon.

The plaque was originally displayed with a wooden lifeguard chair, a life-size photo of Reagan in his swimsuit, and a vintage sign forbidding "profane language." Time has apparently reduced the accessories preserving The Lifeguard Gipper's memory.
