It looks like Tex is brand spanking new, all the way down to the can of chew in his back pocket (more PC than a cigarette?).

My mother took a picture of us standing by Tex Randall in June of 1960. He is fully dressed in his original cloth clothes and is holding his cigarette! I hope Tex will remain standing tall.

Mr. Tex Randall is looking pretty shabby these days, but the locals have started a "T" Party movement to help save him.
[Cindy Sims, 08/19/2010]It looks like Tex will be saved after all. The property around him has been sold to the local Main Street Committee and the Chamber of Commerce, which intends to set up a non-profit entity, demolish the adjacent building, rebuild Tex, and construct a park around him.
