Springfield, Illinois: Home of Abe Lincoln
The only home Lincoln ever owned. He lived here during his 17-year "family man" period, ending when he moved into The White House. His son Robert donated it to the state, which has surrounded it with other period buildings. Wander the gravel streets of 1850s Springfield.

This is the home of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the U.S. It is the only home that he purchased and lived in until he left for Washington, DC, after his election. Three of his four children were born in the house.
The neighborhood has been fully restored to what it looked like when he lived here. Free tickets to the Lincoln Home are available at the visitor center (Several other homes are open to visit as well). It's a wonder trip back in time and a celebration of one of our greatest Presidents.
