I live in the Orlando area. The "Muffler Dog" listed in the Florida section has recently (within the last 2 - 3 weeks, I think) been toppled by poor driving skills. There was an article in the local paper (the Orlando Sentinel) which said someone hit the platform on which it stood. I believe the owners are planning to resurrect the Dane, if they haven't done so already.
[Lisa Howell, 03/03/1998]There is a Muffler Dog on U.S 441 in the Fairvilla section. It is a Great Dane and is about forty feet tall. The local Great Dane Trailer dealership supposedly uses it as a mascot. Perhaps it's there for some more sinister reason, such as gobbling up passing Disney bound tourists.
