On the property of a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house stood this large eaten apple core, a sculpture by Claes Oldenburg (1929-2022). Other sculptures dot the property. Reported to be "out for repairs" in 2019, and it never returned.

Giant Apple Core

The Apple Core is no longer on property. The management didn't know to where it was relocated. Regardless, there are many lovely outdoor sculptures to enjoy. Also, this property is home to Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentuck Knob house. An absolute treasure to see; book well ahead (months) as it is quite popular.

Giant Apple Core

I called the woman at the Registration Desk and she reported that the Apple Core is out for restoration. She didn't know when it would be returned.

The Apple Core is a sculpture by famous artist Claes Oldenburg, so it probably won't be stuck for years in a garage somewhere.

Giant Apple Core

The Claes Oldenburg apple core sculpture is out for restoration as of 5/5/2019.

A giant apple has been chewed down to the core. At Kentuck Knob in Dunbar.

Kentuck Knob is one of the last homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (who has nothing to do with the big apple, as far as we can tell).
