Smallest Town in America

This is now a ghost town. The owner/resident has left. Gas station has a lot of trash. Still glad I got to see it, but I really wish the gift shop was still open.

Smallest Town in America

Sorry to read that the store and gas station in Buford are closed. It's a little place in the middle of nowhere. The gas pumps saved me from absolute misery a few years ago. I was driving cross-country for the birth of my grandson and I miscalculated gas stations. The gas computer in the car went to zero, there was nothing in site in a major rural area, it was cold, and the winds were at 50 mph. I was on fumes and Buford showed up out of nowhere. That town was a Guardian Angel to me.

Drove by on I-80. Saw from the side of the road. It's boarded up and closed.

Buford is now closed, but apparently the gas pumps still work.

Super nice owner, great visit. Took the back dirt road to get there, scenic route, decent roads.
