Sadly, the museum appears to have closed. I have fond memories of visiting the museum in Nashville, Indiana [original location]. It was informative, tacky, fun, and very low-tech. It featured Dillinger's alleged actual "death pants," with a hand-lettered card that said "blood" and an arrow pointing to some dark spots on the cloth. I also visited the museum in Hammond some years later, and felt it had lost some if its charm by being made more educational and modern.

The John Dillinger Museum was a great and inexpensive attraction. But I would suggest using caution with small children. A few of the push-button exhibits scared my six-year-old. Even I jumped! I would also recommend grabbing a museum brochure before you tour the museum, because it gives you a scavenger hunt that keeps you engaged and on the prowl while you visit.
