One of the tallest crosses in America! A huge 199-foot-tall cross is at the intersection of I-20, I-220, and Highway 80, just outside of Shreveport/Bossier City, in Haughton, Louisiana.
[Andy Harris, 05/19/2012]Too skinny to be "huge," but definitely tall. Completed on Nov. 4, 2009. After a local church raised $100,000 for the cross's construction, it learned that its property was zoned for no structure taller than 45 feet -- but the local parish obligingly waved the rules so the cross could be built.
