The World Globe tank looks good from a distance. but up close it could use a little TLC. And the tank has its own mailbox that needs a lot of TLC.

World Globe Storage Tank

The World Globe Storage Tank in Savannah was originally painted by my grandfather, Leo Berkemeier, and one other gentleman, to look like the kind of globe one would see in school. My grandfather was in his rigging, painting an arrow to show the location of Savannah, when his cabling broke and he fell to the ground with severe injuries. This was around 1956-1957. There was a woman named Mary who is/was employed at the Visitor's Center, and her mother was the nurse who took care of grandpa.
