1919 Vintage Gas Station

This gas station was recently donated to the El Paso County Historical Society. The Society owns one pump, as of now, and will be installing it in the near future. They are also working on having the broken windows fixed. They have restored the lighting and as funds become available they will be working to open the station to visitors.

I discovered this adorable little vintage gas station by accident. It's a public park that was once an eyesore, in the Manhattan Heights Historic District of El Paso, Texas.

Local resident Rod Davenport restored the 1919 gas station in 2008. He did such a good job that the neighborhood decided to turn the property around it into a pocket park, which opened in May 2012.
