Savannah, Georgia: World Globe Storage Tank

The World Globe Storage Tank is still in good shape.

Nice way to camouflage what it is. The "oceans" could use a new coat of paint -- they are more gray than blue.

This is the storage tank painted to look like a globe in Savannah. Appeared to be in pretty good shape, with Moon mailbox intact, August 2010.

If you turn down White Bluff Road, you cannot make a left turn onto 73rd street as there is a median there. Must flip a u-turn or go down a block and back track.

This was still painted as a globe back in the seventies, when my school bus drove past everyday, on my way to middle school. Savannah is pretty flat, so it's hard to miss.

Now this is pretty neat! Not only is this thing an accurate rendition of Mother Earth, but the mail box for this address is the MOON! Go during the day as it is not lit at night.
