Horse Cave, Kentucky: Unknown Confederate Soldier Monument

A 12-ft. tall obelisk constructed of geodes commemorates an unnamed Louisiana soldier killed on Sept. 9, 1862. The monument was erected by Sam Lively in 1934; a confederate flag flaps overhead.
