Horse Cave, Kentucky: Unknown Confederate Soldier Monument
A 12-ft. tall obelisk constructed of geodes commemorates an unnamed Louisiana soldier killed on Sept. 9, 1862. The monument was erected by Sam Lively in 1934; a confederate flag flaps overhead.

- Old Dixie Rd, Horse Cave, KY
- Directions:
- West side of Old Dixie Rd, about 500 ft. north of junction with J Harper Rd, across from a small brick house and just north of a black mailbox. A short straight path through the trees leads to the monument. Private property, direct walk to monument doesn't appear to be discouraged.
