Guam, Other - Fighting Dogs of the Pacific Memorial

Hartsdale Pet Cemetery is NOT the site of America's only War Dog Memorial. The United States Marine Corps erected an obelisk and formed a cemetery for the War Dogs of the Pacific Wars - WWII and Vietnam - on the island of Guam. (yes, that is America...a territory) It is on the COMNAV Base on the southern tip of the island about a quarter mile from the family housing area. It is really quite a solemn site.

Tipster Bob Raymond notes it is a "memorial to War Dogs killed during recapture of Guam during WWII, with war dog graves nearby."
