Oaks, Pennsylvania: American Treasure Tour

The American Treasure Tour is a unique collection of automatic music machines (nickelodeons, band organs, music boxes...), classic cars, circus art, and a whole lot more of anything and everything you can think of. There is a tram ride through parts of it. At the beginning of Summer 2016 the attraction began walk-in tours on Saturdays so you don't need to make a reservation and the pricing is much more reasonable. The more expensive custom tours provide more information and personalized attention, but the walk-ins are definitely worth it.

It is very prudent to follow RA's instructions to "Call for prices" when scheduling a tour. We were taken aback by a quoted price of $50 each for my wife and I to be given a tour of the facility... and we deferred visiting this attraction. The person to whom we spoke explained that for him to give the two of us a tour amounted to a "private tour." Admittedly we were calling him while in the area on a weekday... prior to the summer season. The person also told us that during the summer, when he can give a semi-private tour to a group, the price is only $20 per person.

The American Treasure Tour is a 90 minute trip through one man's collection of Americana. It covers as much ground as a Super Walmart. The main collections appear to be Nickelodeons and other music machines (200+ on display; the tour guide plays many of them for the group), cars (I'm not a car gal, but the guide made them sound impressive), and animatronics (some cute, some super creepy) along with a peppering of random dolls, stuffed animals, circus signs, and other various ephemera. Half the tour takes place in the Nickelodeon Room, and the other half highlights the bulk of the collection via a tram ride.

It's like a mini House on the Rock.
