This is truly a "hidden gem" of a diverse natural history museum. Hundreds of artifacts from the U.S. and around the world. Civil and WW I, African and Native American items, Daniel Boone's original tombstone, hundreds of preserved reptiles, insects, mammals and birds including the now extinct passenger pigeon and Carolina parakeet. Dozens of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Plan on a couple of hours to see it all.
Museum has limited hours throughout the school year and visitor tours all year on request. Best to call ahead to set a time/date.
