Self Kicking Machine #2
A swift kick in the...! A must-see one-of-a-kind stop in Raleigh, right off of I-540 in the Angus Barn parking lot. It's sheltered within a small, covered gazebo, easy to spot in the back of the parking lot. You just turn around, turn the crank, and Wham! -- a nice warm fuzzy boot kicks you in the behind.
[Candice, 09/26/2014]This was a blast -- we timed the trip so we could kick ourselves in the ass and have lunch along the way to our trip. It is still in mint condition. Trust me -- you wouldn't want to stand the wrong way, as the sign says!
It was a real bummer that the restaurant did not open until 5 pm. We had to go on our merry way hungry.

The Ass Kicking machine at the 'Angus Barn Restaurant' is a don't miss site if you're visiting Raleigh. Tucked away in the back of the parking lot of this very upscale restaurant sits the replica of Ass Kicking Machine #1. It's in great condition, covered overhead so the boots don't deteriorate. And it packs a wallop. Bring along a friend who you think needs the treatment.
[Biff Johnson, 03/15/2006]Self Kicking Machine #2
There is a second Self Kicking machine in North Carolina. Machine #2 is located in the parking lot of a restaurant called The Angus Barn. The machine is nearly identical to the machine in Croatan, and the sign above the machine gives full credit to the Croatan machine as the inspiration for creating the Angus Barn machine, but also states that the original machine has been destroyed -- which is not true. The Angus Barn machine has a much more solid construction than the Croatan machine, but the real difference is the Angus Barn machine is gear driven where the Croatan machine is belt driven. This means that the boots don't "give" when they make contact, which makes for a much more powerful kick! My favorite thing about the Angus Barn machine is the warning sign: "Don't stand facing the boots."
