A plaque on a rock marks the site of Barack and Michelle Obama's first date and first kiss. The Subway near the plaque was once a Baskin-Robins where they got ice cream.

First Kiss Spot of the Obamas

In 2007, Barack Obama told Oprah that he kissed his future wife Michelle on their first date, sitting on a curb outside a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop, and that "it tasted like chocolate." It took a few years, but in 2012 the shopping center where the Baskin-Robbins stood -- it's now a Subway -- commemorated the Obamas' fateful first smooch with a bronze plaque bolted to a rock. "On this site," reads the text beneath a photo of the smiling First Couple, "President Barack Obama first kissed Michelle Obama."
