While the mammoth diorama is still there, the girl seems to have at least temporarily lost the organ she was carrying from the mammoth carcass.
The museum has two art galleries upstairs, and an easily walkable exhibit on the first floor, good for small school groups interested in the early history of Wisconsin, from the prehistoric to the early settler years. Nice view of the lake.

Life-sized mammoth harvesting display. Yuck. Very nice museum (nice lake view) and free.
[Cory Lenger, 08/20/2012]Farmer Frank Schaefer found the mammoth while digging a drainage ditch. According to the museum, it's "the oldest known mammoth believed to have been butchered by humans with tools east of the Mississippi River." The diorama depicts the butchering.
