A lot of one story murals dedicated to the town's founders. Pleasant, not exciting.
[Scott, 11/12/2019]Lake Placid is about 100 miles out of Tampa. The town has over 60 murals painted on buildings, each with a theme and "hidden item." It is known as the Town of Murals and the Caladium Capital of the World.
[William Henry, 09/02/2012]Caladium sounds like an exotic mineral, but it's the scientific name for Elephant Ear plants. The murals are indeed everywhere in the small town. Three of them are dedicated to a local clown named Toby, one to the turpentine industry, one to a Lake Placid bank robbery.
