Huntington, West Virginia: Pink and Green Giraffe (Gone)
A tall giraffe statue painted pink and green seemed to be associated with a car sales lot and storage facility next to it. Toppled by a storm in March 2023.

The giraffe is no longer there. I was teaching in West Virginia and a student shared that it had been destroyed in a recent storm.

This giraffe is really pretty awesome, a surprising sight on a jumbled and busy old stretch of businesses. I loved how perfectly odd it was in that setting!
