Nice views of the river and Mark Twain town, but the poor lighthouse needs work. We accidentally came up the back way, so we missed walking up the steps -- which was actually okay. If you are in Hannibal you should go and see it, but you shouldn't go out of our way just for it.

The Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse was dedicated in 1935 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mark Twain's birth. It has been lit by three U.S. Presidents: FDR, JFK, and Bill Clinton. Beautiful view of the Mississippi River. However, it's a major workout to get to it... 244 steps to the top!
