Athens, Tennessee: Nocatula and Connestoga
Statues of Nocatula and Connestoga stand where formerly stood two trees, supposedly grown from seeds placed in the dead hands of the doomed Indian lovers. The trees lived for 150 years; the statues replaced them in the 1950s.

- Directions:
- On the campus of Tennessee Wesleyan College. I-75 exit 49. Drive east into town on Decatur Pike/Hwy 30 for two miles. Turn right at the stoplight onto N. Jackson St. You'll pass a red brick church on the right. Just past it are some small businesses with parking lots. Park there, then walk across the road and follow Coach Farmer Drive onto campus. Statues ahead, on the right, across the street from Wilson House.
