- Park at the Blue Earth Rest Area, which has a historical marker about the Stripe (Although it doesn't call it that). Then you can, very carefully, walk out to the Golden Stripe, which is just after the merge where the Blue Earth Rest Area access road rejoins I-90. This stripe is less visible than the eastbound stripe.

The Golden Stripe is making its return! As your existing report says, it was mostly covered over in 2006, but now that section of road is being completely rebuilt, and they are rebuilding new golden stripe sections in their original locations.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the eastbound stripe was restored in July and the westbound stripe will be restored some time in 2024.
