Saddled with debt and struggling for new leadership, New Creations Ministries closed, and the property was sold to a developer in 2016. It's a miracle the 110-foot Miracle Cross still stands.
Venture off the interstate to explore the site and you'll be rewarded with a really creepy wood carving of an extremely tall (or possibly levitating?) Jesus, with two presumably troubled teens looking like they just stepped out of a late-1970s horror movie.

The miracle is that it was built at all, since church members have been dreaming of it since the 1970s. The cross is a steel frame with corrugated steel siding anchored in concrete, and stands 100 ft. tall. The same design has been used for other giant roadside crosses.
