A 1950s-style 50-foot-tall rocket stands upright next to a VFW post baseball diamond. Originally at the Early American Museum until it closed in late '70s/early '80s.

VFW With Its Own Space Program

As we were driving back into Salt Springs on Highway 314, I was amazed to see a large rocket by the side of the road. I'm not sure what it was used for, but it's a for-real rocket. Maybe the folks around here are looking to put the world's first 'gator into space?
