They would not allow any cameras inside the camp, and they said that there was talk of taking the Sundial down because of the interest it brought to the clothing-optional facility.

Love Roadside America, so I drove here to see the Leg Sundial. The sundial/leg is inside of a private, 300-acre nudist colony. They would not let me take my picture in front of the leg. The owner was friendly, and gave me a tour of the place. If he offered me to sit by the pool for an hour for a charge, I might of taken him up on it. Get naked with the rest of them!
[Roadtrip18, 08/16/2021]Apparently the sundial no longer works and you can't take pictures when the camp is populated, but you can buy a postcard of the leg for 50 cents (cash only) in the office. Overall, everyone was super nice and had no issues sharing their tourist attraction. Just know that it is not a stop to make for anyone who is shy!
[Tara Brown, 05/29/2021]When sundials stop working, we really are in trouble. This one is at a "clothing optional" camp, so photos aren't allowed if sunbathers are around.
Stopped here a few months ago to get a glance of the sundial leg. You do have go into the check-in office at the entrance. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take a photo, as the two ladies working at the front desk said "No Pictures Allowed." But they did let me peek my head out the door to see the leg, as it's right outside the office. I ended up buying a post card with a picture on it as a souvenir.
[Beth, 12/20/2020]Accord to the website of Sun Aura resort, "If you come to the front desk during business hours we'll be happy to let you pop in to camp long enough to see her [the leg] and get a picture." Those two ladies must have been new to the job.

We've received conflicting reports about the leg: some say they've had no problem photographing it, others say they were refused entry. It might come down to who's stationed at the front desk that day. You might want to call the Sun Aura Resort and politely ask permission before you go.
