The ten-foot-tall, satisfyingly massive bear statue of Hill City has stood since 1985, when it was donated by a local hunting club. Not a scary, realistic bear.

Big Bear Statue

The Bear Statue is in a park as you drive through town; a nice place for a trip break and a picnic. Easy to find. It's not a scary bear; it's stylized, and a fun statue for staging different photos, like "bear hug" and "dancing bear."
