We went today to see this and the car is there, but the spider is not assembled. The legs are out to the side, and it appears to have been left alone for a while.

He's still there! I'm actually the guy that made him. He will be getting an overhaul this summer and some fresh paint, but he's still in the same location that he's always been!

Spider Car

The Spider Car has either been taken over by overgrowth, or it has moved, or it has been dismantled. A nearby neighbor said that the man who built it was a mechanic, so maybe it is getting a makeover in his garage?

This is a Giant Black Widow Spider made out of an old VW Beetle Car. Each holiday the people that own it will decorate it according to that specific holiday. At Christmastime they make a "Santa Beetle" out of it. [Chris Thomas, 02/03/2013]
